![]() The larger roster of both monsters and weapons (particularly in FU), slightly more refined engine (still plenty of "chip" damage but the controls felt better), plus the ability to continue fighting Lao Shan after the servers were taken offline, made for a much better experience. MHF2/MHFU were arguably a substantial improvement over MHF. ![]() MH4 was also never released in the west, though MH4G (MH4U) was, and every version since then has also been released in the West. MHTri on Wii was arguably a different game in the series since it added underwater combat, which was continued in MH3G (MH3U) on the DS. MHP3rd was never released outside of Japan (though there was a fan-made English patch which disappeared a few years ago). Only part of MH3 came out in the West, though. The only reason it may not have been popular was because it was on PSP, where MH and MH2 were both PS2. Both MHF2 and MHFU were available on store shelves in Aus, so they would have been easily available anywhere else. MHP2G then game out as MH Freedom Unite, losing the 2 notation entirely. ![]() ![]() MH2 never came out in the West, but MH Portable 2 did as MH Freedom 2 on the PSP. Incompatible: Mode 3 Works if patched with v6 English patch (played through all offline quests without issue).
